Seattle Seahawks: Big Win at CenturyLink as Hawks Defeat Eagles
The Hawks played in primetime again on Sunday night when they took on the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time of the matchup, the Eagles were the best team in football, but the Hawks put a stop to that by executing well and holding the Eagles high-powered offense to only two scores. In the end, the final score was 24-17 and one of the Hawks best wins of the season thus far.
What has been difficult for the Hawks during most of the season in regards to slow starts on offense and low efficiency in gaining yards was proven wrong on Sunday night. The offense, led by MVP-caliber quarterback Russell Wilson, found momentum early on in the passing game. Instead of just running the ball for extremely small gains that usually amounted to 4th down punts, the Hawks got Wilson doing what he does best; throwing on the run. Combine that with the elite defense led by Pro Bowler Bobby Wagner and you’re left with a game where the Seahawks performed to their full potential. Games like Sunday night prove that the Hawks are capable of being the best team in the league. If they continue to stay focused and determined, there’s no reason why a successful playoff run can’t happen this year.
The Hawks travel to Jacksonville next Sunday at 1:25 pm PST to take on the Jaguars. Catch the game on FOX and remember to wear that blue all week. Go Hawks!
