Tell-Tale Signs You Need To Upgrade Your Kitchen This Year
There are few (if any) home renovation projects that are more intense than upgrading your kitchen. Not only does it take a lot of planning and coordination, but it can also mean that your kitchen goes out of commission for weeks, sometimes even months before the work is completed. But that shouldn’t stop you from having a kitchen you love. If you’re looking to upgrade but still aren’t sure if you’re ready to commit, here are a few signs that it might be time to make that change:
Low Counter/Storage Space: A well-functioning kitchen should give you plenty of room to work with. That means readily available counter and storage space. If you find that you’re running out of room for standard items and your cooking time is increasing because you’re constantly having to move things around, it may be time to upgrade.
Awkward Layout: Old and outdated kitchens can sometimes have very awkward and obtrusive designs, especially those with range top islands. Whether it’s hazardous from a safety perspective or just plain difficult to maneuver, either is more than enough reason to renovate.
Cleaning Is Too Difficult: Countertops that feature tile with deep grout lines and mottled linoleum floor tiles can be really difficult to clean. A high maintenance kitchen eventually becomes a burden. If you’ve found that you’re spending more time than usual when you’re cleaning the kitchen, a redesign may be just what you need.
You Just Hate The Space: If you’re put-off by your kitchen every time you walk by it, that’s no way to live. Your kitchen is a part of your home and you should always feel comfortable in your home. While money might be an issue, it’d be more than worth it to invest in a better kitchen. This will not only improve your peace of mind but if done right, it will increase the value of your home as well.
