There are many reasons why waterfront living is considered the pinnacle of home living. Nothing beats the ambience and atmospheric calm of going into your backyard and overlooking a beautiful lake instead of just a fence. Are you planning on moving to a waterfront property sometime soon? Well here are a few quick tips to consider during the strenuous moving process:

  • Narrow Driveway: Waterfront homes typically reside at the end of of very long/narrow driveways. Sometimes these driveways can’t be navigated easily by moving trucks. Make sure you double check to make sure you moving truck can both fit and be able to navigate within the confines of your driveway.

  • Accessibility: If you’re moving to a home that’s located on an island or only accessible by ferry, you’ll have to account for that when it comes to your moving truck. Certain ferries have size/weight restrictions on the types of vehicles they allow to board. You’ll want to make sure your moving truck will be able to get on/off the ferry smoothly.

  • Make Lists: This is more of a tip for moving in general and not as specific to waterfront property, but lists are a must. There are so many things to track and account for during a move that you’ll always want to be a step ahead of everything. Carefully crafting lists of all tasks that need to be accomplished on moving day will definitely help make sure everything goes according to plan.

  • Stay Calm: Perhaps the most important tip. We all know how stressful moving can be. And while the stress may not be completely avoidable, it shouldn’t be overwhelming you. If you find yourself feeling really tense, just take a few moments for yourself, take a few deep breaths, and remember that everything is going to work out in the end. After all, you’re moving into a waterfront property!
